【展示概要】
解剖学者で、大の虫好きとしても知られる養老孟司。そして、対象物の全てにピントがあう深度合成技法を駆使し、昆虫写真の新たな可能性を切り拓いた小檜山賢二。長年の虫友だちであるふたりの展覧会です。
深く考え抜かれた養老先生の言葉と、虫たちを数百倍に大きくした小檜山先生の写真を、
大小さまざまなパネルや立体展示物、映像にしました。
驚きと不思議に満ちた虫たちの「なんだ、これは？」の世界を、ぜひお楽しみください。

こたえはぜんぶ、虫にある。
かたちを見る。すべてはそこからはじまった。
ありのままを見ればいいんです。木の枝の葉っぱをよく見てください。
あの葉っぱ一枚が、すべての答えでしょう。
虫だってそう。もう、答えはそこにある。

【主な展示物】
・言葉と写真で、虫、そして自然の見かたを問いかける立体展示物「養老ボックス」。
・虫のすべてにピントを合わせる深度合成技術を駆使した超拡大写真パネル。
・養老先生の虫採り映像や最先端の3Dデジタル映像。

【見どころ】
2024年7月大分県立美術館、2026年3月東京都写真美術館で開催した本展。東京展から新たにデザイナー岡崎智弘氏を迎え、バージョンアップした「なんだ、これは？」の世界は、虫好き嫌い問わずお楽しみいただけます。
・会場は養老先生の思考の部屋。そこかしこに言葉が散りばめられています。
・わずか数ミリ、数センチの虫たちを数百倍に拡大。虫たちの細部をよーく見てみよう。
・見えなかった小さなものたちを知る。身近にいる虫たちの存在を感じてみよう。
・「なんだ、これは？」と感じたことを考えてみよう。
・写真撮影OK！

【プロフィール】
養老孟司（ようろうたけし）
1937年 神奈川県生まれ。解剖学者、東京大学名誉教授、大の虫好き。
小檜山賢二（こひやまけんじ）
1942年 東京都生まれ。情報通信研究者、慶應義塾大学名誉教授、マイクロプレゼンス作家。

岡崎智弘（おかざきともひろ）
本展アートディレクション。グラフィックデザイナー（デザインスタジオSWIMMING）。Eテレ「デザインあ 解散！／集合！コーナー」の企画制作から「虫展-デザインのお手本-」（21_21 DESIGN SIGHT）の展示構成まで、デザイン活動は多岐にわたる。

Insects: An Exhibition by Takeshi Yoro and Kenji Kohiyama ― Look, Feel, and Think

Exhibition overview
This exhibition was developed based on the work of Takeshi Yoro and Kenji Kohiyama, two professors who have been chasing insects for over 70 years.
Professor Yoro’s profound and thoughtful words and Professor Kohiyama’s photographs of insects magnified several hundred times have been transformed into panels of various sizes, three-dimensional exhibits, and video displays. We invite you to explore the wondrous and mysterious world of insects and ask yourself, “What on earth is this?”

All answers can be found in insects.
Look at shapes. Everything started from there.
Simply look at them as they are. Look carefully at a leaf on the branch of a tree.
That single leaf holds all the answers.
Insects are the same. The answers are already there.

TAKESHI YORO
Born in 1937 in Kanagawa Prefecture. Anatomist, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, and insect enthusiast.
KENJI KOHIYAMA
Born in 1942 in Tokyo. Researcher in the field of digital communication, Professor Emeritus at Keio University, and micro-presence author.
